Emmanuel Church, Windsor Road

Emmanuel Church, Windsor Road, Saltburn by the Sea TS12 1BE View on map

Built of rock faced sandstone between 1867 to 1879, in the Gothic revival style. The tower was added in 1902. Notable features by the architect St Charles Nicholson include the Baptistry, Lady Chapel Rerefos, Upper East Window, High Altar Riddel Posts and tester.

Saturday 10am - 4pm and Sunday 1pm - 4pm on the following dates: January: 7th and 8th. February: 4th, 12th, 18th and 26th. March: 4th, 12th, 18th and 26th. April: 1st, 9th, 15th, 23rd and 29th. May: 6th, 14th, 20th, 28th. June: 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th. July: 1st, 9th, 15th, 23rd and 29th. August: 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th, 26th and 27th. September: 2nd, 10th, 16th, 24th and 30th. October: 7th, 15th, 21st and 29th. November: 4th, 12th, 18th and 26th. December: 2nd, 16th and 17th. The church can also be visited weekly Tuesday - Friday at 9.30am and 3pm by prior arrangement with Ms C Pollard (01287 622251 /


Follow the A174 into Saltburn. The church is located on the main road through the town, 1/4 mile from the town centre. Rail: Saltburn-by-the-Sea (1/4 mile). Bus: routes X4 (Middlesbrough to Loftus) and 48/48A (Middlesbrough/Redcar to Lingdale).
