Built 1869-72 for the Jesuits by Joseph Aloysius Hansom in French Gothic style. The interior is spacious and airy with very tall aisle arcades and a broad four bay nave. Elaborate stained glass windows by Hardman, Woodruffe & Lavers and Westlake.


Opening Arrangements

Open daily 8.30am - 6.30pm. Closed after noon Mass on Bank Holidays.


1 mile south of Manchester city centre on Oxford Road opposite University Students Union. Rail: Manchester Oxford Road (approximately ½ mile). Bus: Many buses travelling south of the city centre stop in Oxford Road.
