A restored and repaired 14th century tower house of architectural and archaeological interest. In 1644 it was the scene of a civil war siege. Held by 31 Roundheads, only 3 of whom survived, it was eventually overcome by a much larger Royalist force armed with cannons.


Opening Arrangements

The castle is permanently open throughout the year.
