A medieval moated site and adjacent Romano-British settlement in and to the south of White Walls Wood and north of the River Avon. The moated site survives as a square platform defined by a ditch, with an internal bank visible at least on the south-east side of the monument. A causeway on the south side of the monument represents the original entrance to the site.
Site open at all times. Access via right of way.
A429 near Malmesbury or A433 near Tetbury. On B4040 near Bransdown Hill. Train: Kemble (13 miles) or Yate (13 miles). Bus: routes 41 and 342 (Yate to Malmesbury) or routes 41 and 93 (Kemble train station to Malmesbury).
