Merchant's House, 8 Fore Street, Cullompton, Devon EX15 1JL View on map

Formerly a merchant's town house. 17th century, three storey half timbered, with cob and stone mix, lime plastered under gable-end slate roof. The house appears to conform to merchant-house plan type with shop and storage on ground floor with main rooms on the first floor. Decorative, dentilled frieze. Jettied with oriel windows and early crown glass.


Opening Arrangements

The complete external walls are visible directly from Fore Street. Internal access is available by prior arrangement using letter or e-mail, Sundays in October and November are preferred. Please note that this is a family home.


Centre of Cullompton, on Fore Street, the main street bisecting the town centre. Rail: Tiverton Parkway (4.4miles). Car park at the rear of Police Station off Station Road. Bus: Stagecoach No 1B (Exeter to Tiverton).

Town car park within easy walking distance. Note: Staircases are not suitable for those who are not sure-footed or for those with poor eyesight. Flat shoes with grip essential.
