14th century church with highly decorated 12th century Romanesque doorway (removed from chapel of the ruined hospital of St Nicholas, probably during 1684-5 rebuilding of church). Now houses the National Centre for Early Music and used for concerts, music educational activities, conferences, recordings and events.


Opening Arrangements

All year: Monday - Friday 10am - 4pm. Also by prior arrangement. Access is necessarily restricted when events are taking place.


Inside Walmgate Bar and city walls, on the east side of the city. Rail: York. Bus: First Bus No 10.
