Old St Helen's Church is one of the oldest buildings in Hastings. The ruins have features dating from the 11th century. The church and churchyard is a scheduled ancient monument and the church can be visited at any time. Interpretation panels can help guide your visit. The Friends of Old St Helen's Church occasionally hold open days when it is possible to access the new stair within the tower and enjoy the wonderful views to the sea.


Opening Arrangements

The Grounds are open all year, except for access to the tower, which will be open for 'specified" events or heritage open days. These are advertised via local press and local publications. Also in the residents association newsletter and on Facebook page


At top of Elphinstone Road. Turn into Chardin Drive, then left into Centurion Rise and find the entrance into Ore Place on your right. Hastings is approx. 3 miles away; bus numbers 28, 340 and 342 from Hastings Old Town centre (get off at Hastings Crematorium).
