Formal Italianate gardens designed by Thomas Mawson in 1911 set in 34 acres. The gardens have been restored over a two year period returning them to their former glory. The gardens include an informal woodland garden, leading to a 17th century viewing station/summerhouse, fine herbaceous planting, community vegetable garden, orchard and apiary.

In village of Rydal, just off the A591, 2 miles north of Ambleside. Rail: Windermere (approx. 5 miles). Bus: Stagecoach 555/599 hourly (more frequent services in the Summer).
