Salem Chapel, Vicarage Road

Salem Chapel, Vicarage Road, East Budleigh, Budleigh Salterton, Devon EX9 7EF View on map

Dating from 1719, built as a Presbyterian Chapel which later became congregational. Three galleries and school room added later in 1836 when the façade was re-designed.


Opening Arrangements

Free access to the exterior at all times. Viewing of the interior available by prior appointment with the key holder Kathy Moyle (01395 445236) Other key holder details advertised on chapel gate piers. Events and opening arrangements are advertised on the Historic Chapels Trust website, in HCT's newsletters, on Facebook and Twitter@historicchapels. Access arrangements are publicised on a noticeboard outside the building. The local committee organise a large and varied programme of public events which are advertised locally and on HCT's website. Events programme for 2016 is being organised - the Chapel is due to be open on Heritage Open Day weekend.
