Scheduled and Grade I tower forming the Lesser gateway in Newcastle's Medieval Town Wall; Company of Ship's Carpenter's meeting hall above. C14 Town wall; 1716 meeting hall.


Opening Arrangements

The Tower will be open to the public at various points during the year for exhibitions held in the Radcliffe Gallery. Individuals and/or reasonably sized groups can arrange to visit the site by prior appointment. To set up an appointment, potential visitors should contact Donna Alderson at Newcastle City Council on 0191 2778992 or via email at All requests will receive a holding reply within 5 working days, with a full response following within 10 working days. The Tower will be open during Heritage Open Days between 8th-11th September 2016.
