The oldest remaining Ashkenazi synagogue in London and the third oldest in the country. Previously a Huguenot chapel with some original features. A continuous place of Jewish worship for over 160 years. Permanent exhibition in place.


Opening Arrangements

Tuesdays 10am -5pm*, Thursdays 10am -5pm* and alternate Sundays 10am - 4pm except during Jewish Religious holidays. *4pm in winter.

Admission Charges

  • Adult: £4.00 for tours
  • Child: £2.00 for tours


Adjacent to Spitalfields market in Sandys Row and clearly sign posted. Rail: Liverpool Street and Shoreditch Stations both 500 yards. Bus: routes 8, 11, 23, 26, 35, 42, 47, 48, 78, 100, 133, 135, 149, 205, 242, 344, 388.
