Grade II* listed monument containing the bodies of the famed Victorian explorer, author and translator Sir Richard Burton and his wife Isabel. Built in the form of an Arab tent with ripples in the stone imitating canvas. The interior, which can be viewed through a panel in the roof and accessed via steps, is embellished with oriental lamps, devotional paintings and strings of camel bells.

6 miles SW of city centre, just south of a bend on River Thames, on North Worple Way. Rail: Mortlake (SW Rail 5 minute walk). Bus: routes 209, 33, 337, 493, and 485.
