Grade I listed church dating back to 11th century and situated on a steep natural mound with commanding views over the surrounding countryside. Pre-conquest chancel arch above present 15th century chancel arch. 13th and 14th century bells.

Church is situated on a hill to the north of the village and is highly visible. The car park is signposted. Rail: Kirkby Stephen West (Settle- Carlisle Line, 4 miles east of church).
