St Andrew, Great Ilford

St Andrew, Great Ilford, Ilford, Essex IG1 3JQ View on map

Grade II listed church designed by Sir Herbert Baker (1862-1946) and is of similar design to Pretoria Cathedral in South Africa. The foundation stone was laid on 28 April 1923. Comprises a tall nave of seven bays and chancel with a polygonal apse at the east end.

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9am - 10am, Wednesday 9am - 12pm, Friday 9:30am - 10:30am, Sunday 8:30am - 1pm and 3pm - 6pm.


North of Ilford town centre, close to the A12 and situated halfway down The Drive. Rail: Redbridge and Gants Hill stations (Central Line, approximately 15 minutes walk), Ilford (mainline, approximately 20 minutes walk). Bus: routes 145 and 366.
