Medieval village church with 14th century piscina,15th - 16th century tower and chapels, restored by J Houghton Spencer in 1884. 17th century tomb in north chapel. Notable monuments by Rysbrack, Nollekens and Raffaeli Monti. Described in Simon Jenkins' book 'England's Thousand Best Churches'.

3 miles south of Bridgwater and 2 miles north of North Petherton by junction of Park Lane and Long Lane. Rail: Bridgwater (5 miles). Bus: route 613 (Bishops Lydeard to Bridgwater- service on certain days only).
