Former Roman Catholic church with attached monastic building 1864 - 72 by Edward Pugin for the Order of St Francis and considered one his finest masterpieces. Recognised for its architectural and spiritual significance.

M60 junction 24, follow A57 into Manchester. At the A6010 inner Ring Road turn right and follow Monastery signs. Rail: Manchester Piccadilly (2 miles). Bus: No 205 from the station stops outside the Monastery.
