St George, The Square

St George, The Square, Wrotham, Kent TN15 7AH View on map

Grade I listed 13th-century church with 15th-century tower. Three bay rib vaulted passage runs north-south through the church, originally to allow processions to circle the church without leaving consecrated ground to access the west (The Square). Chancel east window dating from 1633-4 and installed in 1958 was reputedly from St Alban, City of London. 13th-century font and 17th-century tower clock.


Opening Arrangements

9.30am to dusk in winter and open to 5.00pm during the summer.


M26 junction 2A, off A227 towards Borough Green. Rail: Borough Green and Wrotham (approximately 1½ miles). Bus: nos 306 and 308 from Borough Green station. No regular bus on a Sunday; taxi available at railway station.
