St Giles, Church Road

St Giles, Church Road, Colby, Norfolk NR11 7EE View on map

Parish church of 13th century origin, built of flint and stone with a tall thin tower. Set in a narrow lane to the north of the village. Large 15th century porch with finely carved spandrels. 15th century font with carved stone panels, one a rare image of Madonna and child. Notable east window with 15th century glass. The reredos includes 2 painted panels of Moses and Aaron.

14 miles north of Norwich on A140. Turn right at first sign for Colby after Aylsham. Rail: North Walsham (5 miles). Bus: No 44 Norwich to Sheringham (stop at High Noon, 1 mile)
