St James, High Street, Isle of Grain, Rochester, Kent ME3 0BS View on map
Grade I listed parish church 12th -13th century and set within 200 yards of the Thames estuary facing the North Sea. The tower dates from 1903 - 5. Repair to main door inside the porch is from a Dutch Warship and was made when seamen from the Dutch fleet broke into the church. A full description of this event hangs in the porch.
Every Sunday 10-11 am and 12:30 - 1pm. First Saturday every month 9am to 12pm 4th January 6pm to 9pm, 25 July 10am to 4pm, 6 December 6pm to 9pm, 8 December 1pm to 4pm. Additional dates to be added for events, exhibitions, etc and will be displayed on Church notice board. Church Wardens always available to open.
