St James the Less Church, Court Lane

St James the Less Church, Court Lane, Dorney, Windsor SL4 6QP View on map

This historic church dates from the 12th Century and has been the local parish church since that time. The church retains many features from the past including a West Gallery and a family pew. The tower was added in Tudor times and the porch in the 17th Century

Opening Arrangements

31 April, 1 May, 28 May, 29 May: 11am-5pm. Last week of July: 11am-5pm. August: 11am-5pm. The church may be opened for other days in addition: please see the church website, which will also show when the tower will be visited. When the tower is open children under 8 may visit if accompanied by an adult. For visits at other times contact can be made through the vicar, Rev La Stacey. In general, three weeks should be allowed for appointments to be arranged.

Directions

Situated between Dorney Court and Dorney Lake Exit M4 at Junction 7, follow slip road to roundabout. Turn left on to A4 towards Maidenhead. Pass one set of traffic lights, after 500m turn left at the roundabout onto B3026 towards Dorney and Eton. Pass over M4 into village. On a sharp left-hand bend, turn right signposted Dorney Reach. After 300m the short road to the church is on the left. Taplow is 2 miles Redline Bus Routes 63 2 68 run Tuesdays and Fridays only.
