Grade I listed dating from 1234. Notable features include the remnants of an Anglo Saxon cross, an oriel window and a monument to Sandford Nevile d.1672. Finely carved medieval roof bosses and remnants of medieval glass in the windows.

On the B6132 approximately 7 miles south of Wakefield and 4 miles north of Barnsley. Rail Barnsley (4 miles), Wakefield Westgate and Kirkgate (7 miles). Bus: Frequent services from Barnsley and Wakefield.
