Norman church with tower and discernible later additions. Survival of Norman decoration including 2 tympana, and 14th century architectural and liturgical features including sedilia and piscina. Rich period timber decoration. One stone window lintel believed to be recycled Roman.
Open daily between approx 10am and early evening-dusk. Locked except for services in the period Sunday 27 May until Sunday 10 June.
Outside village 1 mile from A66 at junction with road between Appleby and Long Marton. Appleby railway station 3 miles.
