St Margaret, Cowlinge, Newmarket, Suffolk CB8 9QA View on map

Mainly medieval church of flint and stone with red brick tower built in 1733 after the collapse of the original. Medieval rood screen c1400, one of only two examples surviving in Suffolk. Chancel contains a large marble monument by Peter Scheemakers to Frances Dickens d.1840. Large medieval wall painting depicting The Last Judgement. House of correction benches at the west end of the north aisle with interesting tablet above.
