Grade I listed 13th century parish church completed around 1283 by Robert Burnell then Bishop of Bath and Wells and Chancellor of England whose fortified house stands in ruins nearby. The church remains largely untouched with fine architectural details and monuments. Mentioned in Simon Jenkins’ 'England’s Thousand Best Churches'.
