St Mary and St Michael, South Street, Egremont, Cumbria CA22 2AW View on map

Victorian Town church 1881, in Early English style by T Lewis Banks. Built of striking red sandstone with traditional internal layout inside with seating for 500. Baptistry donated by the Freemasons of Egremont contains 7 stained glass windows and some fine carving. Set in restored graveyard with interesting old gravestones.


Opening Arrangements

Monday - Friday 9am - 4pm. Saturday 9am - 3pm. Sunday 7.30am - 4pm.


A595 from Carlisle (north) or Barrow (south) to Egremont. Church is at the end of the main street. Rail: Whitehaven (5 miles), St Bees (2 miles). Bus: Nos 30, 30A, 22 and 22A from Whitehaven and Workington.
