St Mary, Church Road, West Somerton, Norfolk NR29 3DP View on map

Medieval church with a round tower and thatched nave, parts of which date from 11th century. The nave contains 14th century wall paintings and a 15th century rood screen and pulpit. The 'Norfolk Giant' is buried in the churchyard. He grew to be 7ft 8 inches tall, was presented to Queen Victoria and died in 1863. Winner of 2012 Heritage Angel Award for Best Rescue or Repair of a Place of Worship.
