St Mary, Hall Lane, Sutton Scarsdale, Derbyshire S44 5UR View on map

Grade II listed church, early 14th - 17th century. Built on to the south side of the original courtyard of the ruined Scarsdale Hall. Memorial to John Foljambe d.1499 and a wall tablet with bust to Samuel Pierrepont d.1707.


Opening Arrangements

11 April - 30 September: Saturdays 1.30pm - 5pm if no-one is around. However if there are visitors who call near 5pm we will stay open until they have looked around the church. 12 September, photos of how the Hall once looked and items from SS Peter and Paul (now closed) will be on display.


M1 junction 29A. Follow Chesterfield signs for (2.5 miles), turn left at Arkwright roundabout. Rail: Chesterfield (6 miles). Bus: nos. 48 and 119 (Bramton - Heath).
