St Mary, Hall Lane, Sutton Scarsdale, Derbyshire S44 5UR View on map

Grade II* listed church, early 14th - 17th century. Built on to the south side of the original courtyard of the ruined Scarsdale Hall. Memorial to John Foljambe d.1499 and a wall tablet with bust to Samuel Pierrepont d.1707.


Opening Arrangements

30 March - 30 September: Saturday 1.30pm - 5pm if no-one is around. However if there are visitors who call near 5pm we will stay open until they have looked around the church. Saturdays in advent 2pm - 4pm.


M1 junction 29A. Follow Chesterfield signs for (2.5 miles), turn left at Arkwright roundabout. Rail: Chesterfield (6 miles). Bus: nos. 48 and 119 (Bramton - Heath).
