St Mary, Hall Walks, Easington, Durham SR8 3BP View on map
Grade I listed parish church with Romanesque tower, the remainder early 13th century. Extensive restoration in 1853 by P C Hardwick, four bay aisled nave and a chancel with organ chamber and vestries to the north. Mid 17th century pew ends with deep relief carving and poppy heads in the style of Bishop Cosin’s craftsmen. Well preserved 14th century recumbent female effigy in Frosterly marble.
