Grade I listed church in Perpendicular style dating mainly from the 15th century. Restored in late 19th century and 1933-39 by the Caroe practice. Features include a fine timber tie-beam roof and a 100 feet tower. The church is the main visitor centre for the Battle of Sedgemoor. Following the battle in July 1685, some 500 defeated rebels were imprisoned in the church for a short time.


Opening Arrangements

The church will be closed for major repairs until April 2016. Thereafter open daily, 9am - 5pm.


On A372 Bridgwater to Langport Road. Rail: Bridgwater (4 miles). Bus: No 16 Bridgwater to Langport every 2 hours (Monday to Saturday).
