St Mary of the Assumption, Church Lane, Ufford, Woodbridge, Suffolk IP13 6DS View on map

Grade I listed church dating from late 12th century with additions in 13th and 15th century. Famed for its 15th century 18 feet high font cover described by architect Munro Cautley as ' the most beautiful in the world' and by Simon Jenkins as ‘one of the finest in the country’. Also noted for the late 15th century carved Ufford Benches including one known as ' Margaret and Catherine ' which illustrates contemporary hair and chair styles.
