St Mary, St Mary's Road

St Mary, St Mary's Road, Tickhill, Doncaster DN11 9ND View on map

Grade I listed church founded in 1109 and greatly enhanced in the late 14th and early 15th centuries. Interior has important medieval stained glass, and 15th century stone font. Victorian stained glass is by Kempe. Tombs in the church date from 1386 onwards.

Off A60 from Doncaster at the south end of St Mary's Road at the junction with St Mary's Gate and 100 metres from the centre of Tickhill village. Rail: Doncaster (8 miles). Bus: Service 22 (Doncaster to Worksop) to Tickhill Buttercross (half hourly during working hours).
