St Mary's, Church Lane, Northiam, East Sussex TN31 6NN View on map

An active place of worship, with fine 17thC woodwork. The Nave, originally aisle-less (they were added in the 14thC), and Tower are 12th Century, the unique octagonal stone spire is 16th Century (with later alterations). The East end Chancel and Frewen Chapel are 19thC.

Opening Arrangements

Open daily from 9.45am to 5.00pm (4.00pm in Winter). Note that morning prayer is between 9.00am to 9.45am each weekday morning, and Sunday worship services begin at 8.00am and 10.30am.


To the East of the A28 signposted from the road through Northiam. Railways - Rye 7 miles, Hastings 12 miles. Buses - Monday to Saturday Rye no. 313 every 2 hours; Hastings no. 2 every hour.
