St Matthew, Church Lane, Langford, Lechlade, Gloucestershire GL7 3LG View on map

Grade I listed parish church for Langford, a parish included amongst the Royal Estates in Domesday and this may account for the high quality of the work. The late Saxon features are considered to be the most important in the country. In medieval times it was a prebend of the diocese of Lincoln until 1848 when it passed to the Church Commissioners. Restorations by Richard Pace in 1829 and Ewan Christianson in 1864 - 7.


Opening Arrangements

Daily: 9am - 6pm in the summer and 10am - 5pm in the winter. The porch is always open; to gain access to the interior of the church please contact Ms Hichens the Churchwarden upon arrival (see contact details).


Off A361 Lechlade to Burford road. Rail: Swindon (15 miles). Bus: no route.
