St Michael & All Angels, Blithbury Road, Hamstall Ridware, Rugeley, Staffordshire WS15 3RR View on map

Grade I listed parish church mostly 14th - 15th century but originating from 1120 AD. A single shallow roof covers nave, choir and sanctuary and the clerestory runs the length of the church. Notable features are tower and spire to west end, stained glass east window and medieval panels in the reredos. Rev Edward Cooper, cousin to Jane Austen served here.


Opening Arrangements

All year: daily 9am - 6pm.


From Lichfield take A50 then A515 through Kings Bromley towards Yoxall. After bridge turn left up a narrow road to T junction at Morrey, then into Hamstall village. Church is across a field track from the village centre. Rail: Rugeley (5 miles), Lichfield (12 miles). Bus: No 428 (Uttoxeter to Lichfield).
