St Michael, Beccles, Suffolk NR34 9HE View on map

Built by the abbots of Bury St Edmunds in the 14th century the church sits high above the river Waveney. The south porch and detached bell tower are later additions. Lord Nelson's parents were married at the church in 1749.


Opening Arrangements

Daily (excluding Christmas Day and Boxing Day). Monday - Saturday 9am to 3pm; Sunday 8.30am 11.45am.


In the town centre between Old Market and New Market. Rail: Beccles (½ mile). Bus: main bus stop in Beccles Old Market (150m).
