St Michael, The Street

St Michael, The Street, Hockering, Norfolk NR20 3HQ View on map

Grade I listed church dating from mid 13th century and comprising chancel with north vestry, north aisle, nave, west tower and south porch. Notable features are a carved stone font, 18th century west gallery with Hanoverian Royal Arms, Jacobean pedestal pulpit and 13th century sepulchral slab in the sanctuary.


Opening Arrangements

Every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 1 April and 30 September from 10am to 4pm. Open every day during Open Churches Week. (5th - 13th August).


West of Norwich, off A47 into Hockering village and follow route of 'old A47'. Church is at the NW perimeter of the village. Rail: Norwich (17½ miles). Bus: X1 Norwich to Peterborough (¼ mile walk).
