Large Victorian church of 1897 by J M and H Taylor. Gothic revival with Decorated detail. Some stained glass by Wrigley and Hunt. The church incorporates many of the architects' characteristic details to good effect. Stands on foundation of Peel chapel of 1730.
Weekly: Friday 11am - 1pm; Sunday 12 noon - 2pm; first Staurday in the month 10am - 12noon.
On the A6 near the junction with the A5082. Rail: Walkden (1 mile). Bus: Route 36 (Manchester to Bolton).
