Sele Priory was founded in the 11th century but the present church dates mostly from the 13th century, with 18th century additions and alterations. Constructed of flint and stone under a Horsham stone roof, it stands in a rural setting adjacent to the River Adur.

From A283 enter the village of Upper Beeding. Church Lane is opposite the King's Head Public House. Continue along Church Lane to the end where there is parking available. Nearest railway station is Shoreham-by-Sea approximately 5 miles away. Nearest bus route is the Brighton and Hove bus No. 2 from Shoreham.
