One of the largest of the Suffolk "wool churches". Base tower mid 13th century, two principal building phases 14th and 15th century. English perpendicular and good example of knapped flint and stone flush work on the outside walls. Many features, including 14th/15th century font.

Daily. Winter; 9am - dusk. Summer 9am - 6pm.


A1092 between Stoke and Cavendish. Church is in the centre of Clare. Rail; Audley End (30 minutes), Sudbury (20 minutes), Bury St Edmonds (30 minutes), Colchester (40 minutes): Bus from Bury St Edmunds.
