The village is inventoried in the Domesday Book and the church stands within the bailey of the adjacent remaining Norman motte. Listed Grade II* and built 1856 in classic Victorian Gothic style and has elegant and good proportions with fine east and west windows.

Church lane accessed from B4196 between A443 at Holt Heath and A451 at Stourport. 2 miles north of Holt Heath. Rail: Kidderminster (6 miles), Droitwich Spa (7 miles), Worcester (11 miles). Bus: Service No 294/295 (Kidderminster to Worcester, infrequent service) stops near the end of Church Lane. Service No 758 (also infrequent service from Worcester to Tenbury) stops at Holt Heath. Pleasant 2 mile walk.
