St Philip and St Jacob, Tower Hill, Bristol BS2 0ET View on map
Known as Central, this 13th century church was constructed on the site of the 11th century Priory. The chancel, nave and tower comprise the original cruciform plan building. Later alterations in mid 15th century to north chancel aisle and raising of the south transepts to form the tower. Later alterations in 18th and 19th century when larger windows, parapet and pinnacles were installed. Recent single storey extension and conservation works.
