St Stephen, Church Street, Winsham, Somerset TA20 4HX View on map

Grade II* listed parish church dating from 13th century with 15th century additions and 19th century restoration. Reredos of 1873 by Harry Hems of Exeter and a fine Jacobean timbered pulpit. North wall of tower has a 15th century fine painted tympanum depicting the crucifixion, one of very few known on this subject.


Opening Arrangements

All year: daily 9am - 5pm. (There may be limited access to the tower and chancel in spring 2017 due to repair work)


Approximately 7 miles SW of Crewkerne on B3162 in the centre of Winsham village. Rail: Crewkerne (7 miles), Axminster (8 miles). Bus: No 99 from Chard (beware of timetable changes).
