Trentham Mausoleum, Stone Road

Trentham Mausoleum, Stone Road, Trentham, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire ST4 8AY View on map

Built circa 1808 in a neo-Egyptian style, designed by Charles Heathcote Tatham. Monumental exterior. Stone vaulted ceiling inside. Erected for the Marquis of Stafford, later Duke of Sutherland. All tombs of the Sutherland family have been removed. Listed Grade I.


Opening Arrangements

The Mausoleum can be opened by prior arrangement with the Council's Heritage & Design team.


Off Stone Road (A34), within Trentham Cemetery, opposite the main gates to Trentham Gardens. Rail: Stoke on Trent (4 miles). Bus: 21, 21A from Stoke station.
