Wainsgate Baptist Church and Attached Sunday School, Wainsgate Lane, Old Town, Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire HX7 8SU View on map

Grade II* listed . The present building dates from 1859, the exterior being in a robust classical manner. The interior dates from the 1860s and was enhanced in the 1890s and includes a marble octagonal pulpit. There is a large organ and spacious total immersion baptismal font.


Opening Arrangements

The chapel is open for a number of events, details publicised on the building and online (see or the local Friends Group, otherwise access can be arranged at any reasonable time by prior arrangement with the key holder Dave Nelson 01422 843315 and David Holmes 01422 843486.


The chapel is 200 metres up an un-made track at the NW end of Old Town. Nearest station Hebden Bridge 2 miles and a bus from the train station to Old Town.
