Conservation Management Plans

Conservation management plans relating to parks and gardens as well as historic buildings and monuments are submitted to Historic England by a wide range of individuals and private and public organisations seeking our professional advice and services.

Historic England is subject to the Public Records Act and recognises its responsibilities under the legislation to identify records for permanent preservation and to safeguard and transfer those records to an approved place of deposit. We have a Departmental Records Officer and a dedicated records management team who promote compliance with the legislation and best practice governing information and records management.

Conservation management plans are valuable conservation tools and the research helps develop our understanding of the history of England’s historic environment. We acknowledge their importance as a permanent record of Historic England’s advice and guidance.
