Protection of Wrecks Act 1973
This act secured the protection of wrecks in territorial waters and the sites of those wrecks that were thought to lie in territorial waters. This shows the process of designating restricted areas if the Secretary of State is satisfied that the wreck needs protecting. The document lists the offences that can be committed in a restricted area as tampering, diving/salvage operations and damage to the wreck site.
