Assembly Rooms, Friars Walk, Burton Upon Trent, Staffordshire

This is a former Grammar school that was set-up in 1537. Parts of the school were built on a former abbey. This was abandoned after the dissolution of the monasteries. The school occupied a building on the present site before 1757. Between 1757 and 1834 the school was extended and reconstructed.
