Butter Cross, Newport, Telford and Wrekin

A modern plaque records that this cross was set up in 1280 in memory of a Roger de Pyvilesdon (Pulestone). It was probably damaged during the Civil War. Roger de Pyvilesdon (Pulestone) died in battle on Anglesey in 1272 .
