Derby Park, Oxford Road, Bootle, Merseyside

An elevated view across Derby Park with the houses on Earl Road in the distance. The park was set out on land donated to Bootle Council by Lord Derby in 1891. It is 0.9 kilometres from Bootle Town Hall and covers an area of nine hectares. The park was designed by the borough surveyor in 1893 and it opened to the public on 17th August 1895. Restoration of the park took place in the early 1950s and in 1984. New facilities for young people were added in 2009.
