Fair Mile Hospital, Cholsey, Oxfordshire

This building was originally the Berkshire County Lunatic Asylum. It was built in 1868 and is dated 1870 - when it opened. Before this date Berkshire had used the Littlemore Asylum in Oxfordshire. By 1867 there was no longer enough space there, so it was decided to build this new asylum.
